6/3 - 6/14Festival of Flowers
This year’s design, You Are Here, created by local artist Bill Will, will encourage visitors to look beyond our own geographic borders with the installation of a colossal map of the world using more than 20,000 colorful potted flowers. To view a rendering of this year's installation, click here.
In partnership with Portland Mall Management, Inc., this year’s Festival of Flowers will also include two satellite displays along the Portland Transit Mall at Unico Plaza and the Congress Center. In addition to providing bright spots along the transit mall, these sites will also serve as backdrop to the weekly Monday on the Mall event series. 2011 Portland Cool Summer of Sunday Jazz | 12:00pm – 11:00pm
Portland Prime and U.S. Bank will be onsite to host the first annual “Cool Summer of Sunday Jazz” concert here at the Square! Enjoy a variety of entertainment from national and local artists. Grab some food and drinks and enjoy the smooth jazz sounds of Kirk Whalum, Kenny Latimore, Kim Waters, Mike Philips and more! Rally In Defense of Medical Marijuana | 3:00pm - 6:30pm
Medical marijuana supporters will rally against increasing fees on the already expensive process of acquiring a medical marijuana card and federal raids on dispensaries. Music from Justin James Bridges, vendor tables, speakers and more! Come show your support for sensible cannabis laws. Free! No smoking is allowed anywhere on Pioneer Square.
