5/2Yom HaShoah Day of Remembrance | 11:00am – 5:00pm
Every year hundreds of Jewish communities around the world perpetuate the memory of the victims of the Holocaust through the program, Unto Every Person There is a Name, a public recitation of Holocaust victims’ names, ages and birthplaces on Yom HaShoah – the Day of Remembrance. The Oregon Area Jewish Committee and the Oregon Holocaust Resource Center are sponsoring this special Yom HaShoah program. People from all walks of life will read from a list of names of victims.

Over two hundred cities world wide join Portland in the twelfth annual Global Cannabis March! Participants will gather in Pioneer Courthouse Square to march at high noon throughout downtown Portland, accompanied by a police escort.

Come down and get your rose! Alaska Airlines will be on-site to announnce the beginning of their Rose Festival sponsorship season. Employees will be on-site during the lunch hour passing out free roses to the general public.

Join KUPL at the Square for a candlelight vigil and pay tribute to those who are serving in the military and honor those who have lost their lives in the current middle east conflicts. The Transportation Bureau will be at the Square to celebrate National Bike Month and Bike to Work Week by hosting their annual Bike to Work Breakfast. After five months and 15,000 miles of searching the western US for the best rail riders, the Campus Rail Jam Tour is back for its fourth year for a downtown showdown! Come see the Square transform into a snow park for the day and watch as the top 80 riders compete to take home the crown and a piece of the $10,000 in cash and prizes.
